PolarSnow - real snowmaking, 365 days a year: What is it?



	Polar Technologies International are the developers and patent holders for the snowmaking system ‘PolarSnow’, and are the leading suppliers of snowmaking technology to the indoor snow leisure industry worldwide. The unique, patented process of making PolarSnow uses a liquid cryogen, such as liquid nitrogen, to produce real powder snow on demand, all year round. As a result, Polar Technologies have established a partnership with Air Products and Chemicals Inc. the world-wide industrial gases company with operations in 30 countries. Air Products have used their extensive knowledge of liquid nitrogen systems, combining with Polar Technologies' extensive experience of snowmaking, to ensure an effective, safe, engineered solution for Indoor Ski Slopes. Features of the system are: • PolarSnow made in situ to ensure best quality of snow layer. Normally three delivery points for a 200 x 30 metre slope, increasing with slope size. • Polar Technologies advisors available to design, specify building, air-conditioning and advise on business plans of indoor facilities. • Base layer set-up with trained, experienced Polar Technologies staff, working in conjunction with Air Products delivery and safety engineers. • System uses liquefied gases (compressed from atmosphere with no chemical additives). • Air Products/Polarsnow control system, featuring an oxygen management system to ensure safe, consistent operating conditions during production. • Air Products cryogenic awareness-training package (including video) to keep all site personnel knowledgeable about the PolarSnow system.
